I've lived here for eighteen years and I have never once in my life come across anyone who cares about anything that matters."

  Paper Towns一直是我非常喜歡的一本小說，劇情很吸引人，也非常具啟發性。同時女主角Margo可說是我在所有書籍中最崇拜的角色之一!劇情從男女主角小時候一個不尋常的場景出發，讓讀者看到兩人個性的差異，也暗示了女主角Margo的特別。兩人長大後一個晚上的冒險，更讓人對她的果斷瀟灑以及與眾不同的想法印象深刻。對這個她從小在其中成長的世界，她提出質疑，對一切事物的脆弱與空虛發出吶喊。

  "But then the life span started getting longer, and people started having more and more future, and so they spent more time thinking about it. About the future. And how life has become the future. Every moment of your life is lived for the future---you go to high school so you can go to college so you can get a good job so you can get a nice house so you can afford to send your kids to college so they can get a good job so they can get a nice house so they can afford to send their kids to college."

  仔細想想，我們不也是如此嗎?有多少時候，我們太過注重未來，而忘記把握現在?

  畢業典禮前Margo消失了。男主角Quentin毅然踏上尋找她的旅程，即使長途跋涉，即使錯過某些事情。這趟旅程是一種成長，是對自己、對別人的深入探索。貫穿這個故事的"書中詩", Walt Whitman的 Song of Myself 提供主角，也提供讀者許多思考的空間。How do we imagine others? And how do we become others?隨著這趟旅程，我們也會有些更深刻的思考。

  這是一本很值得看的小說，雖然探討的主題看似嚴肅，但在讀的時候完全不會有這種感覺，反而會被故事的走向深深吸引，畢竟主角是高中生，所以也完全不會沉重，反倒有許多幽默的情節與對話，讓人會心一笑。推薦給大家:)
